Who is behind the mead

A beekeeping family, turned meadery.

Tonya Haley was born and raised in Chesterfield, Virginia, not far from where the Meadery stands today, and inherited a profound respect for nature and beekeeping from her father, a dedicated beekeeper and supplier.

After two decades of successfully selling honey, Tonya, alongside her husband Mike, embarked on a journey to create a unique offering – Mead, or honey wine. Haley's Honey Meadery opened its doors on November 17, 2018.

We are a micro meadery, not a factory. We put our heart and soul into each bottle. From the locally sourced Virginia Blueberries to the sweetness of our very own Haley's Honey, we control every drop of what goes into our mead.

Small batch, big flavors

Fermented with Virginia honey, aged to its best.

We ferment in one large tank (265 gallons) and then divide the fermented honey into smaller tanks to blend with fruits and herbs to age.
